Facebuddy: our first free theme
Update: if you are using the official 1.0 version of Buddy Press please go here for the updated version of this theme. Ladies & gentlemen: our first BuddyPress theme has been released! Facebuddy will change the look of your private network, giving to it a Facebook appearance.
Clean and simple: in this minimal work we’ve tried to avoid images (there’s only one for the background bar and one for your logo) ando so you can really install it in a second.
In the pack are included: the site-wide-css file, the background image, the .psd file to customize with your logo or site name, and the footer files that include credits to BuddyDress. Here come the screenshots and at the end of this post you’ll find the installation guide.
Note: if you are using the latest trunk of Buddy Press RC2, you can’t use older themes. You can download the updated version of Facebuddy that works ONLY with WPMU 2.71 and Buddy Press latest trunk. If you are using the RC1 version, you can download the zip in this post.

Put the home theme in your themes folder, and the member theme in the wp-content\member-themes\ as usual
If you want to customize your installation with your logo or your site’s name (recommended) then:
open the logo.psd file with Photoshop (or similar) and customize it writing your site’s name. Then save it as “logo.png” in your wp-content\themes\facebuddy home-theme\images folder
Activate the Facebuddy home theme from Design > Themes. Then, select your member theme from Site admin > Buddypress > Select theme > Facebuddy

I am using MU 2.81 I get an error when going to the groups and blogs. The error is:
You do not have any BuddyPress themes installed.
Please move “/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/” to “/wp-content/bp-themes/” and refresh this page. You can download more themes here.
Please help-I am supposed to be going live with this project.

Could you clarify this install statement:

I haven’t install themes enough to know what is as ususal.
I tried putting the …home-theme folder in wp-content\themes and member-theme in newfolder wp-content\member-themes, I also tried put it in bp-themes\bpmember directory
activation works ok, but when i select facebuddy theme all i get is blank page

here it comes the upgrade to the RC2 version of Buddy Press: http://www.buddydress.com/2009/04/facebuddy-upgrade-rc2/
the download that you find in this post is good with the RC1 VERSION, that now is old. I’ve uploaded an updated download: http://www.buddydress.com/2009/03/facebuddy-update-for-the-1281-trunk/ that works with the 1281 version.
Now it seems that BP has changed and there are issues with themes in the latest trunks, and so i should rebuild the themes. I’m strongly waiting for an official stable version, because you know, rebuilding themes with every new trunk it is really an hard work.
I just updated to the latest trunk and found out that this theme does not work with the latest BP trunk version
We are using MUWP 2.7.1 beta, BP CORE 1 RC2 and facebuddy 2.1 beta, home page seems to work well, as we try to access blog, users, etc, we get message PERMISSION DENIED and/or NOT FOUND / NO ACCESS, The page you are looking for either does not exist, or you do not have the permissions to access it.
How we fix this ?
