The WordPress 3.0 edition: Friday Find
WordPress 3.0 RC3 is due out in a matter of hours as this is posted, and the code is now frozen so we can truly say this week 3.0 is so close we can touch it. With that in mind this week’s Find is going to have some links relating to 3.0 this week.
Justin Tadlock gave us a great ‘Refresher on custom taxonomies’. This builds on a past article where custom taxonomies was looked at and now he goes back and looks at it in light of WordPress 3.0. While you are there it wasn’t released this week but I can highly recommend the great article ‘Goodbye, headaches. Hello, menus! – simply one of the best guides so far in my opinion for the new menu system in WordPress 3.0.
Over at Think Vitamin there was an article which was more a collection of quotes entitled ‘WordPress 3.0 for Web Designers’. It’s a good summary and snapshot of what is being said and what WordPress 3.0 has in store.
Over at wpmu.org Sarah had a great tip this week letting us know that the codex had also been updated in relation to coding standards for 3.0.
Our final link for today comes from w3avenue ‘WordPress 3.0 Features Every Theme Developer Should Know’.
It’s rumored that WordPress 3.0 should be released fully on the 14th however I would estimate some point next week maybe – it being code frozen and entering release client 3 is a great sign of nearing full release though.
