What is BuddyPress?
BuddyPress is a suite of plugins for WordPress that transforms into a full functional social network platform. It can either be installed on a single WordPress site or using WordPress MU. Once installed it provides features that lets your members socially interact with each other. If you have WordPress MU installed you can also link this to the users blog or blogs. BuddyPress aggregates all the member’s blog or community content pulling them onto the main blog and providing the other social features so members can easily connect, communicate, collaborate and create with each other.
How is a BuddyPress theme different from a WordPress one?
A BuddyPress theme should only be used on the blog running the BuddyPress plugin unless the theme states it also supports non BuddyPress installs. You should only enable BuddyPress themes for the blog running the BuddyPress plugins and not provide access to this theme sitewide. BuddyPress themes come with a range of ‘hooks’ to show various data from your BuddyPress plugins therefore unless stated aren’t suitable for normal WordPress installs.
Do all your themes support WPMU, WordPress and BuddyPress?
Yes, all our themes work on all 2 platforms of WordPress or WPMU along with BuddyPress or without it. You get extra styling should you have BuddyPress activated with all our themes but they work just as well without BuddyPress.
How can I find out more information about your themes?
Each theme has it’s own page you can click to view what version it supports and many more details about the theme. Just click <link> themes and pick one to see more about it.
How does the payment processs work? When will I get my themes?
Once you sign up you will see by each theme a new download button where you can get your theme. This is an immediate process once you’ve signed up as a member.
Do I get support after my subscription has ended?
No, you only get support for as long as you are a member. Non members can also not download updated files should a new version of a theme be released. You can however carry on using the theme you just won’t get support or be able to get a new version.
What is your support guarantee?
We guarantee to keep our themes up to date so that as a member you can be assured as soon as is possible when a new version of BuddyPress or WordPress is released our themes will be updated to work.
Can I use the themes on multiple sites?
Yes you can use the themes on as many sites as you want.
Can I remove your credit from the footer?
Yes we don’t expect but would love you to keep the links in the footers.
How do I install a theme?
All our themes are installed in the usual way by putting into wp-content/themes/ the entire theme folder. For instance if you download a theme called themename and unzip it you will in that unzipped folder have 2 folders themename and themename-child (depending on the theme they may be in a themes folder). Just take themename and themename-child and put them in the wp-content/themes/ directory so you end up with:
wp-content/themes/themename
wp-content/themes/themename-child
Then just activate the theme depending on if you have WPMU or not you may need to make this an active theme to be used under site admin along with activating under appearances > themes.
